On October 10, 2024, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan.

Welcoming the President of the Republic of Armenia, who arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the international forum dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan noted that this event attracted the attention of representatives of not only states, but also authoritative international organizations.

Touching upon the topic of bilateral relations, the National Leader of the Turkmen people noted with satisfaction that for many years Turkmenistan and the Republic of Armenia have successfully cooperated in many important areas.

Expressing sincere gratitude for the invitation to visit Ashgabat and take part in the international forum dedicated to the anniversary date, President Vahagn Khachaturyan noted the traditionally friendly nature of the interstate dialogue.

During the meeting, a keen exchange of views took place on priority areas of Turkmen-Armenian relations, demonstrating positive development dynamics. As noted, our countries effectively interact both bilaterally and multilaterally, providing each other with support within the framework of authoritative international organizations.

One of the key vectors of cooperation was identified as the further expansion of productive economic partnership. Here our countries have great mutual potential, including in the area of trade and expansion of the range of mutual trade turnover, in the areas of energy, transport and communications, as well as in other promising sectors.

A special place in interstate relations is given to cooperation in the humanitarian sphere.

Having confirmed the intention of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Armenia to continue to strengthen traditional political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian ties, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Vahagn Khachaturyan exchanged best wishes to each other and the friendly peoples of both countries.
