The Dashoguz Theater presented a play about love and eternal values

The long-awaited premiere of the play "Saňa ýetermi owazym?" took place on the stage of the Nurmuhammet Andalib State Music and Drama Theater of the Dashoguz velayat. The production is based on the work of the national writer of Turkmenistan, Dovletgeldi Annamyradov.

The play is about love, devotion, and the value of human relationships, told through the destinies of two characters—a man and a woman—and recounts the story of their relationship throughout their lives. The romance, which began in their youth, undergoes various life challenges and continues to thrive thanks to the epistolary genre that connects their hearts even at a distance.

Reinterpreting the dramatic material, director Guvanch Baymedov uses theatrical language of symbols to convey the inner world of the characters, their experiences and impulses. This approach allows viewers not only to observe events on stage but also to engage with their own inner worlds.

One of the symbols used is candles, which alludes to Pasternak's "A candle burned on the table. A candle burned." Metaphorically, the candle symbolizes life, embodying bright moments and hope, while the flame itself is fragile and vulnerable. This duality underscores life's value, its beauty, and simultaneously its ephemerality, reminding us that every moment can be swept away by time.

"I am pleased that the audience received our new production well and appreciated its deep philosophical message," says director Guvanch Baymedov. "Sometimes we forget that we need to value each other and love despite everything. I wanted to tell a story about pure and bright love that does not fade until the end of life and can withstand any trials."

The main roles are performed by young theater actors—Vepa (Begli Dovlyev) and Melek (Ogulgerek Shykhyeva).

The new production is particularly relevant for young families. After all, family is an important unit of society where fundamental values such as love, support and mutual understanding are formed. The play reminds us how important it is to cherish and strengthen family ties in order to overcome difficulties together and enjoy life.
