On the 14th of October, the International Academy of Horse Breeding named after Aba Annayev and the Council of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly of the city of Arkadag held a meeting with young people on the occasion of the recent presentation of the UNESCO certificate on the inclusion of the nomination «Ahal-Teke horse breeding art and horse decoration traditions» in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The main goal of the event called «Çawy dünýä dolan türkmen bedewi» is to increase the interest of the younger generation in Ahal-Teke horses, preserving the purity of this ancient breed, and to promote a caring attitude towards national values in general. The meeting was attended by specialists from the Council of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly, professors and scientists from the International Academy of Horse Breeding named after Aba Annaev, the International Ahal-Teke Equestrian Complex, the Scientific and Production Centre for Horse Breeding and the State Equestrian Circus named after Gorogly of the city of Arkadag.
The speakers told the youth about the unique characteristics and features of Ahal-Teke horses, which have been called the wings of the Turkmen people for centuries, their scientific study, the opportunities created in the country to preserve horse breeding traditions and increase the glory of the heavenly racehorses. As was emphasised in the speeches, the inclusion of the nomination «Ahal-Teke horse breeding art and horse decoration traditions» in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of UNESCO became further evidence that the national values created by the Turkmen people over the centuries are recognized throughout the world. During the meeting, musical performances were also performed, enhancing the emotional atmosphere of the meeting.
