The program of the III International Conference and Exhibition “International Transport and Transit Corridors: Connectivity and Development - 2024” (ITTC-2024), which will be held on November 26-27 in Ashgabat in favor of World Sustainable Transport Day, covers a wide range of topics related to the integration of green technologies, digital transformation, development of multimodal transport and green logistics, increasing connectivity through international transport and transit corridors.
In order to promote development of a safe and inclusive transport infrastructure under the leadership of the UN Special Envoy for Road Safety, Jean Todt, ITTC-2024 will support the UN initiative «Safe Roads for All», aimed at ensuring road safety as a basis for sustainable development. The resolution on road safety adopted by the UN General Assembly encourages countries to take a set of measures to prevent road accidents and minimize the damage caused. One of the measures is related to the implementation of vehicle safety regulations protection toward of all new vehicles to conform standards of the protection of passengers and other road users.
ITTC-2024’s support to the UN Road Safety Campaign is important in advance of the 4th Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety in Marrakech, Morocco, which will be held on February 18-19, 2025. The aim of the conference – measure the progress in the implementation of the Global Road Safety Plan for 2021-2030 during its initial five-year period, and also to gain support for a new vision of safe and sustainable mobility.
It’s worth reminding that in Turkmenistan, "Road Safety is the peace of our lives" road safety campaign is held annually in September. The month is held in order to reduce accidents and implement an additional set of measures to ensure road safety. Within the confines of the month, active educational work aimed at preventing certain types of traffic violations is carried out in mass media, educational institutions and other establishments.
