Employees of the State Customs of Turkmenistan took part in a seminar in Seoul

Representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan took part in a regional seminar on cross-border digital trade for the countries of the Central Asian regional Economic Cooperation.

The event was held in Seoul as a part of the Asian Development Bank's "Best Customs for Better Customer Service in Central Asia" project. The project is designed to support the readiness of the CAREC countries to comply with existing commitments to simplify international trade procedures, including the Agreement on Cross-Border Paperless Trade, the Program of Authorized Economic Operators. Korean experts shared their experience in imolementation of new digital technologies in customs.

In particular, they presented a methodology for conducting a feasibility study of cross-border paperless trade. The workshop participants also discussed the basic principles of cross-border digital trade, reviewed strategic measures to optimize customs control and facilitate the movement of global trade between Korea and interested CAREC countries.
