The capital of Turkmenistan hosted the opening of the international conference and exhibition "International Transport and Transit Corridors: Interconnection and Development – 2024". The event gathered representatives from the Turkmen government, heads of ministries, agencies, public organizations and foreign companies.

The forum has become a crucial platform for discussing issues of transport diplomacy, infrastructure modernization and international cooperation.

The key event during the opening ceremony was the announcement of a congratulatory address by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The head of state particularly noted that the country places special importance on modernizing its transport and communication system, which is a vital condition for strengthening international cooperation.

The President also emphasized that Turkmenistan is actively implementing advanced technologies, conducting scientific and technical reforms, and executing large-scale projects aimed at developing multimodal freight transportation and strengthening the country's position in global transport corridors East-West and North-South. These efforts are being carried out within the framework of the " Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the Development of Transport Diplomacy for 2022–2025".

One of the forum participants was the Russian company "Engineering Service – Putmash", which presented its developments at the exhibition for the first time. The company is engaged in the production and maintenance of track and railway equipment. The company's CEO Egor Lukyanov noted in an interview that Turkmenistan has enormous potential for growth in the transit sector. He emphasized that cooperation with Turkmen railways could be a significant step in developing the region's transport infrastructure.

"We see Turkmenistan as a promising platform for development. We plan to create a joint venture that will be completely independent of imports. This will allow us to transfer technology, train specialists, and implement modern solutions to increase the speed and reliability of rail transportation," Lukyanov stated.

The company has already opened its representative office in Ashgabat and begun negotiations with the Turkmenistan Railways Agency. Among the priority areas of cooperation are infrastructure maintenance, personnel training and innovation implementation.

"Our equipment can make a significant contribution to developing the country's railway system, which is particularly relevant for transforming Turkmenistan into a key transit hub in the region," Lukyanov added.

According to representatives from "Engineering Service – Putmash", Turkmenistan has every chance to become an important node in the Silk Road transit corridor. In the next 5–10 years, the country is expected to become a leader in track engineering.

The international conference and exhibition not only showcased Turkmenistan's achievements, but also reinforced its status as an important player in the global transport-transit market.
