Development of transport and postal services in Turkmenistan: achievements and prospects

The theme of the second day of the international conference ITTC 2024: Innovations and Sustainable Development of Transport was - innovative solutions and strategic development of logistics, which allowed the participants to delve into the key aspects of the modernisation of the transport industry.

Particular attention was paid to discussing the logistical features of the work of border cargo terminals. The participants of the session exchanged experiences in optimising cargo transportation, emphasising the importance of developing transport hubs to accelerate transit and improve the interconnectivity of regions.

Another session focused on the use of electric vehicles and autonomous vehicles. Such technologies open up new prospects for industrial transport, helping to reduce the carbon footprint and improve the efficiency of logistics.

Another key area of discussion was the digitalisation of transport logistics. The introduction of innovative digital platforms helps to improve monitoring of transportation, increase transparency and speed up processes in global transit corridors.

The stand of the Agency «Turkmenaragatnashyk» attracted special attention at the exhibition site of the conference. One of the key participants was the State Postal Service of Turkmenistan «Türkmenpoçta», which demonstrated significant progress in modernising its services. The organisation is actively introducing modern technologies, expanding the range of services provided and maintaining a commitment to national traditions:

-Ensuring the delivery of goods within the country and abroad; development of a wide network of branches in remote areas and the introduction of online services for city residents; providing access to educational and professional materials through digital platforms; commitment to cultural traditions, expressed in the unique design of postage stamps and projects dedicated to the national heritage.

Despite significant progress, expanding access to mobile Internet and Wi-Fi in rural areas remains an important task. The culmination of the second day was a ministerial meeting held at the «Archabil» Hotel. Here, the participants discussed the prospects for global cooperation, focusing on the creation of sustainable transport systems, digitalisation of the industry and the introduction of environmentally friendly technologies.

The conference showed Turkmenistan's desire to create modern transport and postal systems that combine innovation and cultural values. The completion of ITTC 2024 will be marked by an award ceremony and the signing of strategically important documents reflecting the key decisions made during the conference.
