Strengthening trade and economic ties between Turkmenistan and Türkiye

The second day of the International Turkish Export Products Exhibition in Ashgabat demonstrated a significant strengthening of economic cooperation between the two countries. More than 70 Turkish companies, associations and business partners, many of which already have experience in the Turkmen market, presented their products and services.

The event, opened the day before with the participation of high-ranking officials from both countries, including congratulations from the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, aims to expand the export of Turkish products and create new business opportunities.

Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat emphasised the significant strengthening of trade and economic relations thanks to the joint efforts of the leaders of the states and expressed confidence in the further expansion of cooperation.

The exhibition presented a wide range of Turkish products covering various sectors.

Agriculture: Leading Turkish associations such as the Mediterranean Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association (AKDENİZ İHR. BİRLİKLERİ YAŞ MEYVE SEBZE), Western Mediterranean Exporters Association (BATI AKDENİZ İHR. BİRLİĞİ), Dried Fruit and Fruit Products Exporters Association (EGE İHRACATÇILAR BİRİĞİ KURU MEYVE), and Aegean Olive and Olive Oil Exporters Association (EGE İHRACATÇILAR BİRİĞİ ZEYTİN VE ZEYTİN YAG) showcased high-quality products including citrus fruits, fruits, vegetables, dried fruits, olives and olive oil. The success of these associations, with billions of dollars in exports in 2023, confirms the potential for growth in the Turkmen market.

Food Industry: Southeastern Anatolia Oilseeds and Finished Products Producers Association (GÜNEYDOĞU ANADOLU İHR. BİRLİKLERİ HUBUBAT) presented oils, flour, sugar and confectionery. Turkish Walnut Exporters Association (KARADENİZ İHR. BİRLİKLERİ) offered a wide range of high-quality food products.

Textile Industry: Southeastern Anatolia Textile and Raw Materials Exporters Association (GÜNEYDOĞU ANADOLU İHR. BİRLİKLERİ TEKSTİL) presented its products.

Metallurgy: Western Mediterranean Exporters Association (BATI AKDENİZ İHR. BİRLİĞİ) presented ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

An important aspect of the exhibition was the presentation of environmentally friendly and innovative technologies, which allows Turkish companies to offer competitive high-quality products with minimal environmental impact. This is especially true for agricultural products, which are in demand in the Turkmen market.

Overall, the Turkish Export Products Exhibition in Ashgabat continues to develop, providing new business opportunities and expanding cooperation opportunities between Turkmenistan and Türkiye. The participation of Turkish companies in the event confirms the high interest in the Turkmen market and its potential for further development of mutually beneficial trade relations.

The exhibition will last until 6th of December and is expected to become an important milestone in the development of bilateral cooperation in trade and economy between the two countries.
