On 16 December 2024, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Eric Stewart, Executive Director of the Turkmen-American Business Council, Chab Leiko, President of Strategic Cooperation in Central Asia at John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG, and Nikolay Yurchenko, Head of Westport Trading Europe, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the Turkmen-American Business Forum.

Expressing their sincere gratitude to the head of state for his time, the businessmen reaffirmed the desire of the US business circles to further develop fruitful ties with Turkmenistan.

After warmly welcoming the guests, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the Turkmen-American Business Forum would further promote intensification and strengthening of the investment partnership between Turkmenistan and the United States of America and wished the meeting a success.

Noting that during the visit the US partners will have an opportunity to exchange views with their Turkmen counterparts on promising areas of cooperation, the head of state stressed that the upcoming talks would give a new impetus to building mutually beneficial bilateral relations. In this context, the contribution of American companies to the realisation of the economic potential of both countries was highlighted.

It was emphasised that for many years such large companies as «Boeing», «General Electric», «John Deere», «Сase New Holland», «Nicklaus Companies», «Westport Trading Europe Limited» have been implementing important projects in Turkmenistan. In this regard, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted with satisfaction the weighty contribution of the successfully operating Turkmen-American Business Council to the intensification of mutually beneficial cooperation.

In the course of the conversation, among the most promising areas of cooperation were identified the oil and gas industry, electric power, renewable energy, transport and communications, agriculture and high technologies.

The head of state reiterated Turkmenistan's interest in expanding mutually beneficial cooperation with American companies and readiness to consider their specific proposals.

At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and representatives of the US business community exchanged best wishes and expressed confidence in further dynamic development of effective long-term partnership.
