The World Hindi Day was celebrated at the Language University of Turkmenistan

A solemn event dedicated to the World Hindi Day was held in the large conference hall of the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages. 

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Turkmenistan Madhumita Hazarika Bhagat, Embassy staff, Institute management, teachers and students attended the event. 

The rector of the Institute, M.Charyev, opened the event with a welcoming speech. In his speech, the head of the university noted that a great contribution to the formation of interest in Hindi among young people belongs to teachers who approach the issues of language teaching from a scientific point of view, actively study world experience, and participate in international forums. It was emphasized that the established cooperation between the Institute and the Embassy of the Republic of India in Turkmenistan is having a great interest in students' deeper learning of the Hindi language.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Turkmenistan Madhumita Hazarika Bhagat noted the importance of celebrating the World Hindi Day, underlining the popularity of Hindi in Turkmenistan and the high level of language skills of teachers and students of this university. 

During the event, students studying Hindi made presentations on the proximity of Turkmen and Indian literature, the similarity of cultures and traditions of the peoples. With great enthusiasm, the students recited poems of the Respected Hero Arkadag, also poems by Makhtumkuli Fragi, Rabindranath Tagore, Mkanlal Chaturvedi, Harivansh Rai Bachchan in Hindi. The participants of the meeting were pleasantly impressed by fascinating Indian dance and Turkmen national kushtdepdi, which were masterfully performed by the students of the institute.

At the end of the celebration, the results of the competition for the best essay and poetry translation dedicated to World Hindi Day were summed up at the university, and the students who won prizes were awarded.
