13 medals – 1 gold, 4 silver and 8 bronze – are the results of the performance of Turkmen sambo wrestlers at the XXIX international tournament for prizes of the President of the Republic of Belarus, which ended in Minsk.

More than 200 athletes from nine countries participated in the competitions - Belarus, Armenia, Bulgaria, Germany, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Within two days, the athletes played 21 sets of medals - seven in men's and female sports, as well as male combat sambo.

On the first day of the tournament, the Turkmen sambo wrestlers won six medals – 2 silver and 4 bronze, and on the final day – seven more (1 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze).

Kadirdzhan Gafurov, who was exciting in competitions in combat sambo in the weight category up to 71 kg, climbed to the highest step of the podium.

Silver prize -winners in the combat sambo were the gold medalists of last year's tournament Agasapar Mukhadov (weight category up to 79 kg) and Suvkhan Ovezgeldiev (up to 98 kg), as well as Akhmet Tanriberdiev (up to 58 kg) and Kerim Kerimov (up to 71 kg).

Bronze medals were awarded to: Aziza Nazarova and Aminat Guvanova in women's sports sambo (both up to 50 kg), Zarina Abdurakhmanova (up to 54 kg), Merzen Zhoraeva (up to 59 kg), Bakhtiyar Bahramov in men's sports sambo (up to 79 kg), and Alikhan Aidogdiev in combat sambo (up to 58), Isa Arslanov (up to 71 kg) and Begench Baltaev (up to 79 kg).

Recall that last year, in this tournament, Turkmen sambo wrestlers won 15 medals - 4 gold, 3 silver and 8 bronze.
