Education specialists from Turkmenistan took part in a regional webinar within the framework of a project aimed at educating and raising awareness about climate change among schoolchildren, called "Climate Box."
The event launched a series of online seminars aimed at supporting climate education through the use of digital tools. Participants discussed opportunities for integrating gender aspects into climate change programs, organizing new competitions for schoolchildren and teachers, and other activities within the framework of the project’s implementation.
The "Climate Box" consists of an illustrated textbook for schoolchildren with educational materials and numerous questions; tasks for individuals and groups, as well as instructions for teachers on how to use the toolkit. It also includes a climate quiz—a set of game cards—and a wall map illustrating the potential consequences of climate change for nature and humanity. A large team of authors worked on the "Climate Box," including leading specialists in climatology, geography, biology and economics, as well as professional children’s book writers.
Experienced schoolteachers made invaluable contributions to the project by helping to develop recommendations for teachers on how to use this toolkit in classrooms.
