The Central Asia Climate Change Conference 2025 (CACCC-2025) will take place in Ashgabat on May 13-15. Representatives of relevant government agencies, international organizations, and experts from Central Asian countries will participate in the event. Participants will discuss measures to promote climate initiatives in the region.
The conference, dedicated to achieving global climate finance goals in Central Asia, will focus on mobilizing financial resources, strengthening regional cooperation, and enhancing resilience to climate change.
During the conference, participants will discuss the achievements of the region's countries in combating climate change and adapting to its consequences. Additionally, the results of work on the third version of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC 3.0) will be presented.
Special attention will be given to attracting and effectively managing climate financing. Moreover, participants will exchange views on Central Asia's transition to a "green" economy, as well as water and energy security.
Applications for in-person participation in the conference are being accepted until February 28, 2025. Participation is also possible in an online format. Registration forms are available at this link.
Given the common challenges faced by the Central Asian region due to climate change—such as rising temperatures, desertification and accelerated glacier melting—the CACCC-2025 conference, held for the seventh time, will once again serve as a key platform for discussing mechanisms to provide financial and political support to countries in the region as they transition to an environmentally sustainable future.
The organizers of CACCC-2025 are the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) in partnership with the World Bank, the Central Asia Water and Energy Program (CAWEP), the RESILAND CA+ Program, and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
