The Government of Turkmenistan and the United Nations Children's Fund signed 11 new work plans for 2025 with 12 partners. The signing ceremony took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
These agreements reflect the parties' shared vision for promoting the rights and well-being of children and youth in Turkmenistan. In particular, work plans were signed between the UN Children's Fund and the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Prosecutor General's Office of Turkmenistan, the Supreme Court of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Justice of Turkmenistan, the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, the State Committee of Turkmenistan on Statistics, the Institute of State, Law and Democracy of Turkmenistan, the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Television and Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography and the Women's Union of Turkmenistan.
The plans envisage joint efforts to improve child protection, education, health and social services, focusing on priorities such as gender equality, environmental sustainability, inclusive policies and evidence-based policy development. “As we enter a new year of partnership, UNICEF remains committed to working closely with the Government of Turkmenistan to transform work plans into real results for children and young people,” said UNICEF Representative in Turkmenistan Jalpa Ratna, expressing gratitude to the Government of Turkmenistan for its continued partnership and commitment to shared goals.
