«Ahal» won its second victory in a row in the Turkmenistan Football Championship among the top league clubs, beating the capital's «Kopetdag» in the third round - 4:0.

The game took place in the Babarap gengeshlik of the Gokdepe etrap of the Ahal velayat.

«Kopetdag», having suffered its second defeat in a row, conceded two goals in each half. Before the break, Dayanch Meredov (23rd minute) and Gurban Annayev (35th) scored for Ahal. In the 76th minute, Suleyman Kadyrov scored an own goal for the visiting team. And Yakupmuhammet Govshudov set the final score in stoppage time in the 93rd minute.

Earlier, Velsahet Ovezov’s team beat Balkanabat’s «Nebitchi» on their home field – 2:0 and now occupy second place with 6 points.

The leader of the Turkmenistan Championship with 7 points is Turkmenbashy «Shagadam», which played a 0:0 draw on the opponent's field in the Balkan derby with «Nebitchi». The same score was recorded in the match between «Ashgabat» and «Merv», which took place in the Babarap gengeshlik of the Gokdepe etrap of the Ahal velayat.

After the 3rd round, the third and fourth places are shared by «Merv» and «Nebitchi» with 4 points. The capital's «Altyn Asyr» is 1 point behind them, but it has played one match less.

The final match of the 3rd round between «Altyn Asyr» and «Arkadag» was postponed to the reserve day due to the current champion of the country being busy in matches of the third most important Asian club tournament - the AFC Challenge League.

Let us remind that Arkadag will play its first match in the 2025 Turkmenistan Championship on the 30th of March at home against «Shagadam». In the 4th round, the games of which will take place on the 29th and 30th of March, the following teams will also play: «Kopetdag» vs. «Ashgabat», «Nebitchi» vs. «Merv», and «Ahal» vs. «Altyn Asyr».
