Physical culture, sports and cultural events on the occasion of World Health Day celebrated on the 7^th of April in Turkmenistan were launched with student competitions in volleyball, futsal, basketball and table tennis.

The opening ceremony of the student games, organised by the Ministry of Education, the Youth Organisation named after Magtymguly, the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports and the National Federation of Student Sports of Turkmenistan, was held at the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports in the atmosphere of a bright musical and sports festival. Spectators enjoyed not only the exciting performances of athletes, but also a fiery concert. The dance «Kushdepdi» performed by talented gymnasts aroused particular admiration.

And then the first futsal match took place, in which the team of the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction defeated their rivals from the Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Nyyazov - 4:2.

As part of World Health Day, various forums, educational and cultural events, competitions in various sports and ceremonial sports events with the participation of students of comprehensive secondary schools, students of higher and secondary vocational educational institutions, employees of institutions and enterprises, athletes will also be organised in the regions of the country, Ashgabat and Arkadag cities on the 7^th of April.

In order to establish the principles of a healthy lifestyle in society, popularise physical education and sports, bike rides and various physical education and sports events are also planned.
