At the end of March this year, the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan of the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan hosted a training seminar on "Studying the specifics of introducing innovative energy efficiency technologies into the production sectors of the economy, taking into account the climatic conditions of Turkmenistan."
The seminar was organized by representatives of the State Energy Institute together with experts on the projects of the European Union "Sustainable Energy Links in Central Asia" and the United Nations Development Program "Sustainable Cities in Turkmenistan: Integrated development of green cities in Ashgabat and Avaza".
The event was attended by specialists from the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan, teachers and students of SEIT, specialists from the Scientific and production center "Renewable Energy Sources" at SEIT, key experts of the SECCA project, specialists and international consultants of the UNDP project.
Participants got acquainted with the activities of the European Union’s SECCA project and the UNDP’s project “Sustainable Cities” in the field of development of sustainable energy, renewable energy sources and increasing energy efficiency, circulation and waste management, as well as the application of the “zero waste” method. In addition, the possibility of cooperation between SEIT, the European Union’s SECCA project and the UNDP project in the field of development of renewable energy and energy efficiency were discussed.
International consultants provided the seminar participants with a wide range of information on the implementation of innovative energy efficiency technologies in residential and industrial buildings. The participants received information about the benefits of developing renewable energy and energy efficiency and the experience of developed countries in creating a regulatory framework for improving these sectors.
