From March 25 to April 4, 2025, our country was visited by experts from the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Europe to provide advisory and technical assistance aimed at enhancing virological surveillance of influenza and acute respiratory infections in Turkmenistan. The visit was organized by the WHO Country Office.

Darya Danilenko, expert from the WHO Regional Officefor Europe, conducted a 10-day training course titled "Features of Isolation and Antigenic Characteristics of Influenza Viruses." The sessions took place at the virological reference laboratory of the Center for Public Health and Nutrition of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan.

The main goal of the training was to improve the qualifications of virologists at the National Influenza Center in conducting virological diagnostics and laboratory procedures. 

The course included both theoretical and practical tasks. Special attention was given to methods for isolating and characterizing influenza viruses in accordance with WHO international recommendations.
