The State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan hosted the International Conference «Status of Neutrality – a Guarantee of Sustainable Energy Development. Systems Thinking for Comprehensive Analysis of Energy and Climate. 

Studying the Peculiarities of Sustainable Energy Development in Turkmenistan». The event was organised within the framework of the European Union project «Sustainable Energy Connectivity in Central Asia» (SECCA). 

The forum was attended by international experts from Italy, Croatia, Georgia, Latvia, Kazakhstan, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan, faculty, researchers, postgraduates and students of the institute. 

During the conference, a number of speeches were made on the importance of energy saving, large-scale work in this direction in various sectors of the economy of our country. Important issues on the environment, climate change and adaptation of agriculture to its conditions, expanding opportunities and increasing knowledge for the development of a «green» economy and renewable energy sources were discussed.

Particular attention in the speeches was paid to the comprehensive work carried out in the country to ensure the active participation of Turkmen youth in solving these issues and attracting the younger generation to public activities in this area.

Participants of the international meeting got acquainted with the exhibition of scientific works organised in the main building of the institute.

As part of the international project in order to improve the professional level of the faculty and research staff, a training course «Studying the Features of the Implementation of Innovative Technologies for the Efficient Use of Energy in Production in the Climatic Conditions of Turkmenistan» was held at the Energy University of Turkmenistan. The training took place in two stages, upon completion of which the students were issued the corresponding certificates.
