The winners of the Turkmenistan Tennis Championship have been determined

114 athletes (64 men and 50 women) from the Ahal, Dashoguz, Lebap, Mary velayats and Ashgabat gathered for the Turkmenistan Tennis Championship, which ended on the courts of the Ashgabat Multifunctional Stadium.

Winners were determined among both men and women in singles and doubles.

The men's tournament, in the absence of the injured winner of the 2024 Turkmenistan Cup Yuriy Rogusskiy, ended with the victory of sixth-seeded Allanur Dayanjov. In the semi-finals, Allanur won in three sets against fifth-seeded Didar Vepamyradov – 4:6, 6:2, 6:1, and in the final, in a tough fight, he defeated last year’s 25-year-old champion of Turkmenistan, first-seeded fifth-year student of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Education and Sports Meylis Orazmuhammedov – 7:5, 7:5.

Allanur Dayanjov becomes the champion of Turkmenistan for the first time. And his current mentor, the coach of the national team, the number one tennis player in Turkmenistan, Yuriy Rogusskiy, deserves a lot of credit for this. The new champion of the country successfully combines tennis with his studies at the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan, where he is a fourth-year student.

The top three was rounded out by the seventh-seeded 17-year-old 12th-grader of Mary Secondary School №25 Resul Atayev, who won a strong-willed victory in the match for 3rd place over Didar Vepamyradov – 4:6 7:5 7:5.

Resul Atayev added a gold medal in doubles to his bronze medal in singles, performing together with Nazim Kasymov, a 16-year-old 11th-grader of Mary Secondary School №3. In the final, this Mary duo won in a tough fight in a super tie-break against the seventh-seeded students of the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan, Allanur Dayanjov and Serdar Vepamyradov - 6:4, 4:6, 14:10 and climbed to the top step of the podium for the first time. This success of Resul Atayev and Nazim Kasymov is rightfully shared by their mentor, coach of the 3rd sports school of the city of Mary Andrey Dovmatov.

In the women's tournament, the title of champion of Turkmenistan was reclaimed a year later by Ilima Guseynova, a 9th-grader of Ashgabat Specialised Secondary School №42. On the way to this success, the second-seeded 15-year-old winner of the international tournament «Ashgabat Open 2024» did not experience any major problems.

Ilima Guseynova becomes the champion of Turkmenistan among women for the third time. This success of the talented athlete is rightfully shared by her current mentor, coach of the 11th sports school of Ashgabat Uma Hummetova.

It is also worth noting the silver of the equally capable student of the coach of the 9th Ashgabat sports school Nelli Voynich - Leyli Esenova, who won in the semi-finals against last year's champion of Turkmenistan Aisha Bikbulatova - 6:4, 6:2 and for the first time rose to the second step of the podium at the adult championship.

Aisha Bikbulatova, a 12th-grade student from Ashgabat Secondary School №50, won the bronze medal of the national championship, beating Anna Ponyatova in the match for 3rd place – 6:3, 6:3.

Ilima Guseynova and Aylar Kakabayeva, an 8th-grade student from the capital’s School for Gifted Children named after Atamyrat Niyazov, won the women’s doubles. In the final, they snatched victory in a super tie-break from the first-seeded Aisha Bikbulatova and Aynur Movlamova – 6:2, 4:6, 10:7. It is noteworthy that A. Kakabayeva and A. Bikbulatova play tennis under the guidance of coach of the 10th capital sports school Jenneta Hallyyeva, and a 10th grade student of the Ashgabat specialised secondary school №27 A. Movlamova trains at the 11th sports school with Serdar Bashimov.
