Experts from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Turkmenistan delivered a lecture to students of the Turkmen Institute of Engineering, Technical, and Transport Communications.
The event is part of a series of lectures organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan in collaboration with various UN agencies to mark 2025 as the "International Year of Peace and Trust."
This particular lecture focused on innovations in healthcare at both global and national levels.
Participants were introduced to advanced solutions being implemented in healthcare systems, specifically in the monitoring and treatment of infectious diseases and combating non-communicable diseases. Additionally, they were informed about efforts to strengthen the clinical and laboratory infrastructure in Turkmenistan.
In this context, several noteworthy initiatives were highlighted the introduction of a video-supported tuberculosis treatment platform, the digital system for recording and tracking delivered and installed medical equipment, mobile applications that provide quick access to medications for treating non-communicable diseases, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in X-ray diagnostics.
