The farmers of Dashoguz velayat are fully prepared for the upcoming responsible campaign for the production of silkworm cocoons.

Contracts for the production of valuable raw materials have been signed with more than eight thousand tenants this year. Several hundred private structures and some daikhan associations will also take part in this process. The premises of incubators and wormholes have been brought into line with the established standards, where all the necessary conditions have been created for the effective rearing of silkworm caterpillars. Necessary measures have been taken to provide producers with a sufficient volume of high-quality silkworm pellets.

The velayat, due to the favorable conditions created by the state for the development of sericulture, has become one of the largest producers of mulberry raw materials in the country. Over five hundred tons of valuable raw materials are produced here annually. The largest producers are traditionally farmers of the Akdepe, Shavat and the Gorogly etraps.

In addition to the accumulated rich experience and the active use of modern scientific developments, local silkworms can benefit from the availability of an extensive forage base in the region. Mulberry plantations in the region are replenished annually with a large number of new seedlings planted here along the perimeter of agricultural land and along water sources.
