Today, the 17th International Scientific Conference “Turkmen Horse and World Art of Horse Breeding” was held at the Aba Annaev International Horse Breeding Academy.

The forum in honor of the National Holiday of the Turkmen Horse was preceded by an exhibition that unfolded at the main entrance to the Academy. It featured works of fine and decorative applied art, carpets, jewelry, and photographs that depicted the beauty of Akhalteke horses. The features of their execution, artistically conveyed images of racehorses, and horse harness items displayed within the exhibition attracted the attention of the conference participants.
Also presented here were the remarkable works of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, dedicated to swift-footed racehorses, including “Akhalteke – Our Pride and Glory”, “Swift Step of the Horse Racer”, “Horse – a Symbol of Loyalty and Happiness” and others. Translated into many languages, they became the property of the general world community, playing a significant role in increasing interest in the Akhalteke horse breed throughout the world.
Then the 17th International Scientific Conference “Turkmen Racehorse and World Art of Horse Breeding” began its work.

First of all, sincere congratulations were expressed to Hero-Arkadag on the occasion of the presentation to the National Leader of the Turkmen people of the highest state award of the Republic of Uzbekistan – the Order of “Friendship at the Highest Level” – during a friendly visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan. The speakers proudly emphasized that this is recognition of the enormous work carried out by Hero-Arkadag to strengthen regional cooperation, mutual trust, mutually beneficial partnership and stability throughout the world. This has a particularly deep meaning in the days of the International Year of Peace and Trust, filled with large-scale events.

As noted, in the new historical era, thanks to the tireless work and efforts of the Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar, who are true connoisseurs and admirers of the “heavenly” horses, excellent riders and popularizers of equestrian sports, the Akhalteke horse has become one of the main symbols of Turkmenistan, personifying the inseparable connection of times and generations. In this context, the conference participants expressed their sincere gratitude to the Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar.

The speeches emphasized that our people, having given the world an invaluable work of breeding art, were able to bring the purity of the breed to our days through the centuries, constantly improving the distinctive qualities and gene pool of these beautiful horses.

Thanks to the efforts of Hero-Arkadag and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, targeted work is being carried out in the country to revive and develop the art of horse breeding. Currently, hardworking horse breeders, continuing the best traditions of their ancestors, are doing everything necessary to preserve the purity of the breed, improve the exterior and increase the number of Akhalteke horses, recognized as a model of beauty and grace.
During the conference, the floor was given to foreign participants – fans of Akhalteke horses. Among them are a member of the International Association of Akhalteke Horse Breeding, director of the Jeýkob Ferdezuçt GBR horse breeding company (Federal Republic of Germany), Honored Horse Breeder of Turkmenistan Katharina Jacob, General Director of the YEMA Group company (People’s Republic of China) Chen Gang, consultant on Turkmen horses of the equestrian organization of the province of Gulistan of the Islamic Republic of Iran Annamuhammet Gylyji, professor of the China Agricultural University Wang Qin.
The speakers emphasized the influence of Akhalteke horses on the world culture of horse breeding, their invaluable contribution to history and selection. Particular emphasis was placed on the fact that these graceful creatures are rightfully considered the standard of beauty. The guests also spoke about the methods used to preserve and further improve the unique Akhalteke breed.
As noted, under the leadership of Arkadagly Hero Serdar, systematic activities are being carried out in Turkmenistan to develop horse breeding and industry science, improve selection work, modernize specialized infrastructure, train highly qualified personnel, increase the number of purebred “heavenly” racehorses, and stimulate equestrian sports. At the same time, special importance is attached to technologies for preserving the gene pool of Akhalteke horses.
The conference featured informative reports covering a wide range of issues related to Akhalteke horses. In particular, the genetic characteristics of their colors, the role of the mentoring institute in passing on the unique traditions of the Turkmen art of horse breeding to the younger generation were discussed. The symbolic significance of the “winged” horses as the personification of national achievements and accomplishments was especially emphasized. The participants also learned about the use of molecular genetics technologies in horse breeding, the prospects for improving the methods of preparing Akhalteke horses for national equestrian games, the historical roots of the art of decorating these noble animals and the development of the horse breeding industry in the country.
The participants were greatly impressed by the reports dedicated to the glorification of Akhalteke horses in the works of Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar.
The presentations organized within the framework of four thematic sections of the International Scientific Conference aroused keen interest and fruitful discussion: “Heavenly” racehorses in the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state”, “Unique Turkmen art of horse breeding in the selection of Akhalteke horses”, “Current issues and prospects for the scientific development of horse breeding” and “Akhalteke racehorses in the pages of history and literature”.
The speakers particularly emphasized the invaluable role of the Hero-Arkadag and President Arkadagly Hero Serdar in the revival of the world fame of Akhalteke racehorses. Thanks to the efforts and support of the head of state, national horse breeding has taken a worthy place in the life of our country, absorbing the heritage, culture, historical experience of the people, their hard work, creativity and inspiration. It was noted that the “winged” Akhalteke horses, overcoming time and distance, continue their triumphant march around the world, symbolizing the harmony of labor and creative endeavors, the power of inspiration, beauty and purity.
In this regard, it was emphasized that in the new era, the unfading glory of the beautiful “heavenly” racers has risen to new heights and illuminates our path to great goals in the name of the well-being of peoples, friendship and peace on Earth.
The participants expressed confidence that the current celebrations, held in the International Year of Peace and Trust, will help familiarize the world community with the achievements of domestic horse breeding, exchange experience, expand mutually beneficial cooperation with foreign colleagues – associations and industry organizations, as well as private horse connoisseurs.
At the end of the scientific conference, its participants adopted an Appeal to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Musical performances added a special festive atmosphere to the International Forum dedicated to Akhalteke horses.
The artists’ numbers widely praised the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state, the great achievements carried out in the country thanks to the efforts of the Hero-Arkadag and under the wise leadership of Arkadagly Hero Serdar, as well as the beauty and glory of Turkmen horses. The sounds of songs, harmoniously intertwined with the celebrations on the occasion of a significant event, made an unforgettable impression on the participants of this forum.
