A new project titled “Developing National Capacity of Turkmenistan through Improving Regulatory Environment towards Energy Efficient and Sustainable Building Sector” has been launched in Turkmenistan.

The project, initiated by the Ministry of Environment Protection of Turkmenistan in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), is funded by the Global Environment Facility. The Ministry of Construction and Architecture of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan, and the Ashgabat City Khakimlik are also involved in its implementation.

The project includes the development and introduction of modern standards and construction regulations. It will contribute to fulfilling Turkmenistan’s international climate commitments, including the provisions of the Paris Agreement on climate change.
