On May 24, at the plenary session of the International Conference "White City Ashgabat", the city's mayor Rahim Gandymov spoke. In his report, he presented the significant achievements of the Turkmen capital within the framework of the country's industrialization program, noting the impressive growth in industrial output in various sectors, including the production of cotton fiber, fabrics, high-voltage power distribution equipment, footwear and pharmaceuticals.
Ashgabat continues to actively develop, attracting significant capital investments, especially in the public sector of the economy. These investments are aimed at large-scale construction, and the city is already seeing its results.
For example, in 2024, 160 residential buildings were commissioned, built with the participation of both local enterprises and foreign contractors. Significant funds are also directed to the development of the capital's public utilities, which indicates a comprehensive approach to improving the urban environment.
Special attention is paid to the grand project "Ashgabat City" - the concept of a "smart city" that is planned to be built in the north of the capital. This large-scale project, covering a significant territory, envisages the construction of hundreds of modern residential buildings, as well as all the necessary trade, cultural and household infrastructure, including schools and kindergartens, within the framework of the general plan for the development of Ashgabat until 2045. It is intended to become a model of innovative urban development and attract international investors.
In parallel with the active construction, Ashgabat pays great attention to environmental initiatives. As part of the National Forest Program of Turkmenistan, the city demonstrates its commitment to the principles of sustainable development by planting millions of tree seedlings annually, which contributes to the creation of a "green" and comfortable urban environment.
The “White City Ashgabat” Conference, held under the motto "Inspire, Create, Unite!", serves as an important platform for exchanging experiences, attracting investments and developing joint solutions in the field of urban development. Its thematic sessions cover key areas: sustainable development, innovative construction, digital transformation, as well as improving transport and urban infrastructure.
