Under this title, a ceremony honoring ecologists – employees of the structural divisions of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan, dedicated to the celebration of World Environment Day, was held in the conference hall of the National Institute of Deserts, Flora and Fauna.
Among those gathered were specialists from the services of environmental control and hydrometeorology, forestry department, nature conservation inspectors and scientific staff of state reserves, desert scientists . The meeting was opened by the Director of the Institute of Deserts, candidate of biological sciences Pirli Kepbanov, who emphasized that the current Ecologist Day is illuminated by the motto of the current year — the International Year of Peace and Trust, as well as the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's acquisition of the status of permanent neutrality, three times confirmed at the level of the UN General Assembly.
Speaking about the importance of the multifaceted work of ecologists who guard the country's natural heritage, the speaker presented the strategic directions of environmental activities of the ministry and the institute within it for the study and protection of natural environments, which is supported by national environmental legislation, a solid package of by-laws, as well as work within the framework of global UN conventions signed by the country, significant regional agreements, international treaties, memorandums of understanding and cooperation.
The meeting also discussed the high level of greening of industrial enterprises, both state and private, and especially the fuel and energy complex. Achievements in the fuel and energy complex will be presented to the domestic and foreign environmental community during an international conference dedicated to the environmental aspect of the extraction and processing of hydrocarbon raw materials. It will be held on June 5, the Day of the Ecologist, and is organized by the State Concerns "Turkmengaz" and "Turkmennebit", as well as the State Corporation "Turkmengeologiya".
The speakers at the meeting are the institute’s botanist Maral Sahatova, a researcher at the "Bereketli Garagum" Nature Reserve Jemal Ayhanova, Deputy Head of the Methodology and Observation Department of the Hydrometeorological Service Muhammet Atajanov and others spoke about the successes of their divisions, emphasizing the commonality and synergy of environmental protection activities and the development of economic processes.
This is a support for the implementation of the state course taken to achieve progress and peaceful development, abundance and well-being, raising the standard of living of the people. The study and conservation of natural heritage is focused on the long term, which builds a reliable platform for the successful implementation of state strategic programs for socio-economic development. The progressive course of their implementation is set by the initiator of state reforms — Hero Arkadag, the implementation continues successfully under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
"Conservation of natural resources, ensuring environmental safety for human economic activity, maintaining the level of self-renewal and self-sufficiency of the biodiversity of flora and fauna, stability — the eco-background of the world of living nature corresponds to the interests of the state and society," said an employee of the institute Abadan Nurberdieva, noting that the event was organized with the assistance of the National Center of Trade Unions of Turkmenistan, which provided a pleasant moment in the final part of the celebration — the presentation of valuable gifts to employees of the industry with extensive experience and work experience, who serve as an example and mentors for young people, are public activists.
