Yelena Haritonova, the President of the Central Asian-European Creative Alliance from Brussels, shared her impressions of the International Exhibition and Fair "Turkmenextile Expo – 2025". Ms. Haritonova, who visited Turkmenistan for the first time, expressed delight at the level of organization of the event and the professionalism of local designers.
Answering a question about her impressions of the country and the city, the guest noted:
– I am very happy to be in Turkmenistan. This is my first time. We have been enjoying Ashgabat with our colleagues, designers from different countries, for the second day already. This is the purest city. But the greatest wealth, I believe, and the greatest asset, are your people, your warm hearts.
Yelena Haritonova was also impressed by the professionalism of Turkmen designers, their work with textiles and fabrics. She particularly highlighted the abundance of embroidery:
– There is a lot of embroidery here, and this is painstaking work. And almost all the designers work in ethnic style, but, nevertheless, each designer is individual. The scenography of the fashion show also made a strong impression on the entire delegation.
According to Yelena Haritonova, “Turkmentextile Expo – 2025” is especially unique, as it is the first textile exhibition in Central Asia that combines light industry, fashion elements, equipment, crafts and the preservation of cultural heritage.
– The main mission of our Alliance is to combine European and Central Asian design. This desire for integration was also manifested in the active participation of my fellow designers from different countries in the Ashgabat exhibition.
On June 13, at the site of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, Yelena Haritonova will hold a presentation and master class on new materials and technologies in the world of textiles, sharing European experience. In addition, she will take part in a round table on "textile diplomacy", which will be moderated by Sheker Akynyyazova.
