«Ahal» broke away from «Altyn Asyr» in the Turkmenistan Football Championship

The 13th round of the Turkmenistan Football Championship among the top league clubs ended with matches in Mary, Turkmenbashy and Ashgabat.

The two games that attracted the most interest were those in which «Merv» hosted «Ahal» and «Altyn Asyr» played away against Turkmenbashy's «Shagadam».

Both games were productive.

In «Mary», «Ahal» opened the scoring in the 5th minute. Alibek Abdurahmanov did it. In the 41st minute, Shohrat Ovmadov scored a goal back, and the teams went into the break tied at 1:1.

In the second half, Elman Tagayev scored two more goals from a penalty in the 63rd minute and Magtymberdi Berenov scored two more goals against the hosts, bringing «Ahal» a 3:1 victory.

But the finalist of the 2018 AFC Cup, the capital's «Altyn Asyr», which is also fighting for medals, unexpectedly lost to «Shagadam» - 1:2. Mekan Ashyrov (45th minute) and Suleyman Mirzoyev (76th) distinguished themselves for the winners, and Zafar Babajanov (84th) for the losers.

After these matches, «Ahal» broke away from «Altyn Asyr» by 3 points, which with 25 points shares 3-4 places with «Shagadam».

In another match, «Arkadag» in the capital at the Nisa stadium beat «Ashgabat» - 2:0 and with 33 points with two matches in reserve strengthened its leadership. The current two-time champion of Turkmenistan was represented by Begmyrat Rejepov (23rd minute) and Altymyrat Annadurdyyev (82nd), who with 8 goals scored became the sole leader in the scorers' race, ahead of his teammate Didar Durdyyev by 1 goal. 

Begench Akmammedov («Arkadag») scored 6 goals. Yhlas u («Arkadag»), Meylis Diniyev («Ahal») and Zafar Babajanov («Altyn Asyr») scored 5 goals each. Abdyresul Abdyyev («Merv») and Mekan Ashyrov («Shagadam») scored 4 goals each. Elman Tagayev and Dayanch Meredov (both «Ahal»), Yhlas Magtymov («Shagadam»), Bashim Gurbanberdiyev («Ashgabat») and Selim Nurmyradov («Altyn Asyr») scored 3 goals each.
