On the occasion of International Yoga Day, which is celebrated annually on June 21, yoga enthusiasts held a practical session right on the coast of the Caspian Sea in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.
The fresh sea air and the peaceful atmosphere contributed to a deep immersion in the practice, positively affecting the health of the participants.

The session was led by an experienced yoga instructor from Balkanabat, Myahri Gulmamedova, who has been actively practicing yoga for five years and has completed coaching training. She noted the growing popularity of yoga in the region:
– Last year, a yoga master class, organized by the Embassy of India in Turkmenistan, was held at the indoor water park. And today, it can be said that yoga classes are becoming increasingly popular in our city. We practice both indoors and outdoors – in the mountains and by the sea. Our region is rich in picturesque places, and we gladly use them for training.
In Turkmenistan, great attention is paid to a healthy lifestyle. Large-scale sports events such as runs, cycling races, and other activities promoting sports among youth are regularly held. Sports centers across the country have yoga sections and studios where anyone can join the classes.
