Thousands of children spend summer holidays in health centers of Turkmenistan

Summer holidays are a long-awaited time for rest and new impressions. During these days, thousands of children spend their summer holidays in the country’s children’s health centers. To ensure a full-fledged rest for schoolchildren, various events are organized, including theatrical performances, concerts, and sports competitions that help reveal talents and develop new skills.

Recently, "Kim çalasyn" contest was held at the "Demirýolçy" center in Gokdere, with the support of the "Demirýollary" agency and the Magtymguly Youth Organization,. Participants demonstrated their abilities in reading aloud, working with digital systems, drawing, playing chess, and various sports disciplines.

The cultural and sports event called "Biz bagtyýar çagalar" took place at the "Bagtyýar nesiller" health center in Gokdere. Checkers and mini-football competitions identified the strongest players, and the winners were awarded memorable gifts.

Such activities aim to provide joyful and healthy vacation, as well as to instill a love of sports in children.

An important part of summer rest is the development of outlook and love for reading. Children’s camps actively cooperate with libraries, organizing educational meetings and exhibitions. For instance, book exhibitions and educational meetings with librarians were held in the health centers "Beýik Serdaryň ruhubelent nesilleri," "Şöhle," and "Nebitçi," located in the Gokdere valley.

Children listen to stories with great interest, get acquainted with Turkmen folk tales and other fascinating literature, which contributes to their comprehensive development. Many centers are also equipped with reading rooms with an extensive collection of literature available to every young book lover.

The health centers of the National Tourist Zone "Avaza" – "Ahal," "Balkan," "Daşoguz," "Lebap," and "Mary" – also warmly welcome children on vacation. In addition to various developmental activities, schoolchildren here can enjoy active leisure — visiting the "Avaza" water park, the amusement parks "Älemgoşar" and "Jadyly kenar," as well as spending time at swimming pools and sports grounds. Exciting excursions, hikes, and sports competitions are organized for them.

Summer holidays in the country’s children’s camps are not just an opportunity to rest but a comprehensive approach to raising a modern, educated, broad-minded, and physically healthy generation. The opportunities created by the state are highly valued by both children and their parents.
