A meeting of the National Working Group on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in Turkmenistan was held at the UN building, where stakeholders assessed the progress achieved and agreed on further steps to implement national priorities and global commitments. The meeting participants reviewed the progress of the national roadmap for SDG reporting and discussed the proposed target values for national indicators of the Sustainable Development Goals until 2030. The central issue on the agenda was the preparation of the third Voluntary National Review of Turkmenistan, including the identification of specific SDGs to be presented in the document. In connection with recent changes in the global system of SDG indicators, experts reviewed the necessary adjustments to the national indicator matrix to ensure compliance with international standards.
Following the meeting, next steps were outlined and a shared commitment to continue cooperation in achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was reaffirmed.
