A Constitutional Law on the Legal Foundations of Neutrality Policy developed in Turkmenistan

The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Hero Arkadag, reported during his speech at the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan that with the aim of significantly strengthening the position of the state's policy of permanent positive neutrality in national legislation, a draft Constitutional Law of Turkmenistan "On the Legal Foundations of the Policy of Peace and Trust of Neutral Turkmenistan" was developed. The text of the document has been published in the country’s official media.

The law defined the legal foundations of the policy of peace and trust of permanently neutral Turkmenistan, as well as the principles of its implementation in international relations.

Among these are neutrality, equality, good-neighborliness, non-use of force and the threat of force, non-participation in military blocs and alliances, non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries, respect for equality and sovereignty of states.

This policy aims to use the opportunities of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality and preventive diplomacy in accordance with the principles, values, and goals of the UN. It seeks to develop relations based on trust and openness, strengthen trust, enhance security at the regional and global levels, and create favorable external conditions for the sustainable development of Turkmenistan.
