Three postponed matches of the 16th round took place in the Turkmenistan Football Championship among the top league clubs. Two of them were held in Ashgabat, and one in Balkanabat, where the local team "Nebitchi" hosted the AFC Cup 2018 finalist and debutant of the AFC Challenge League 2025/26, the capital's "Altyn Asyr."
The encounters between these teams this season have been remarkably fierce battles. In the first round-robin match, "Nebitchi" won at home 1-0, while in the return match of the second round-robin stage, "Altyn Asyr" avenged with the same score on their home ground.
In the third game, the Balkanabat team could not offer worthy resistance to their well-known opponent, conceding three unanswered goals. Ruslan Tajiev opened the score in the 26th minute. Myrat Annayev completed the rout for "Nebitchi," scoring a double in the 50th and 60th minutes.
By winning 3-0, "Altyn Asyr" secured second place with 37 points.
The third spot was taken by Turkmenbashi's "Shagadam," who defeated the "Ashgabat" team 1-0 at the capital's "Nisa" stadium. The winning goal for the seaside team was scored by Ikhlas Magtymov in the 21st minute. "Shagadam" trails "Altyn Asyr" by 4 points, having one game in hand.
In another match in Ashgabat, "Kopetdag" and Mary's "Merv" failed to score against each other, playing to a goalless draw 0-0.
It is worth noting that "Arkadag" leads the championship with 63 points after 21 matches played.
The top scorers list is led by forward Didar Durdyyev with 20 goals (1 from penalty). He is followed by teammate Begench Akmamedov with 17 goals (1 from penalty). Completing the top three scorers is another "Arkadag" player, Altymyrat Annadurdyyev, with 16 goals (1 from penalty).
