On the 3rd of October of this year, the results of a competition announced by the editorial staff of the «Vatan» newspaper and the public organization «Ýaş tebigatçy» («Young Naturalist») were announced at the «Ashgabat» Recreation Park, one of the capital's most beautiful and cozy spots. The goal of the event, titled «Ýaş tebigatçy: ýaşyl dünýä, abadan geljek», was dedicated to the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence. The goal was to highlight the work being done to preserve the beauty of nature and the sustainable use of its resources in newspapers and magazines.

During the ceremony, Leyli Shihmadova, chairperson of the public organisation «Ýaş tebigatçy», read an address to the volunteers, noting that the organisation places great emphasis on protecting the natural environment of their native land, particularly tree planting. As the proverb goes: «Kimde-kim bir agaç ekse ýadygär, dünýäniň kitabynda onuň ady bar» («Whoever plants a tree in memory, their name is in the book of world»).

The public organisation «Ýaş tebigatçy» was founded on the 26th of September, 2022. Its main goal is to contribute to ensuring the country's environmental security, informing the public, especially young people, about the importance of protecting nature, preserving and restoring natural resources, flora and fauna, and supporting and encouraging youth initiatives in the rational use of natural resources.

Participants submitted articles, poems, prose, and works written in various genres to the competition.

First place went to the student of Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly Mukam Bekgylyjov. Second place went to Maral Batyrjanova, a biology teacher at Secondary School № 45 in the Danev Etrap of the Lebap Velayat, and Ogulgerek Atayeva, a student at the State Energy Institute. Third place went to Ogulgerek Zakirjanova, a student at the Turkmen Agricultural Institute, and Rovshen Shyhberdiyev, a student at the International Horse Breeding Academy named after Aba Annayev.

The winners were presented with certificates and valuable gifts at a ceremony.
