During the working visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Azerbaijan, the ceremonial launch of the construction of a mosque in the city of Fuzuli was held. This mosque will be built as a gift from the people of Turkmenistan to the people of Azerbaijan.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hero-Arkadag emphasised that the construction of roads, bridges, and mosques is considered sacred by the Turkmen people.
All heads of delegations who arrived in the Republic of Azerbaijan to participate in the 12th Summit of the Heads of State of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) participated in the ceremony via a digital system. Following speeches by the muftis of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, Hero-Arkadag and the heads of the OTS member states simultaneously launched the construction of the mosque.
On the instructions of the National Leader of the Turkmen People, the mosque will be built by the private enterprise «Aga-gurluşyk» with funds from the Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The land on which the majestic mosque will be built covers more than one hectare. It will be able to accommodate 500 worshippers simultaneously.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed his sincere gratitude to Hero Arkadag and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as to the entire Turkmen people, for the construction of the mosque as a gift from Turkmenistan to the people of Azerbaijan.
