Professors Martin Sewior and Sarah Khan from Nottingham Trent University (United Kingdom) visited the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammet Azadi.

The working visit of the university representatives took place from November 10 to 14 as part of the British Council’s program “Accelerating English Language Learning in Central Asia.”

The foreign colleagues conducted a seminar-training for the institute’s English language teachers. During the event, the guests spoke about active teaching methods used in English language instruction, key aspects requiring special attention in the teaching process, and ways to implement inclusive education.

The professors shared their professional experience and demonstrated the discussed approaches in practice.

During a meeting with 4th-year students, the professors held a master class on methods of teaching reading and writing in English, as well as ways to introduce inclusive education into the learning process.

The international guests visited classes conducted by the institute’s graduates who work as teachers in specialized secondary schools No. 131 and No. 140 in Ashgabat, and provided methodological recommendations on implementing inclusive learning for schoolchildren. Additionally, the professors held a meeting with graduates where they demonstrated methods for preparing educational materials for inclusive teaching in school lessons.

The representatives of the British university also attended classes taught by the institute’s lecturers, observed the course of the lectures, and offered their comments and valuable methodological recommendations for further enhancing the professional level of the teachers.

The informative and practice-oriented working visit of the Nottingham Trent University professors became an important event for the Turkmen institute and provided significant methodological support in improving the teaching of foreign languages.
