On the 27^th of November, the Centre for public organisations of Turkmenistan announced the results of the traditional scientific article competition «Economist of the year» as part of the event «Permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan: the basis of economic and political development», dedicated to the 30^th anniversary of neutrality of the country.

The competition was organised by the editorial board of the magazine «Maliýe we ykdysadyýet», the National centre of trade unions and the Ministry of finance and economy of Turkmenistan.

The competition, announced at the beginning of the year, was open to employees of financial, economic, and banking systems, representatives of other sectors of the economy, and teachers and students of specialised higher education institutions of the country who had published articles in the journal «Maliýe we ykdysadyýet» in 2025.

Articles were evaluated according to criteria such as the novelty of the material, the presence of specific proposals, and their economic benefits.

According to decision of the jury, Selimberdi Hojaberdiyev, deputy head of the Ashgabat city main financial and economic department, took 1^st place. Amangul Bayrammyradova, a lecturer in the department of «Global economy» at the Turkmen State institute of economics and management, took 2^nd place. Nazik Sadykova, a lecturer in the department of «Accounting» at the Turkmen State institute of finance, took 3^rd place. The winners, as well as all participants, were awarded prizes at a ceremony.

Professors and instructors from higher education institutions of the country, representatives of the National centre of trade unions, and employees of the Department of labour resources and employment of the Ministry of labour and social protection of the population of Turkmenistan spoke at the event. As noted, our country has implemented projects of international significance that play a vital role in the development of the national economy, constructing hundreds of facilities equipped with modern equipment in sectors such as the fuel and energy complex, the chemical industry, the agro-industrial sector, transportation and communications, and light industry.

The importance of the annual «Economist of the year» scientific article competition, which has a significant impact on raising awareness of economic achievements of the country and helping to attract and motivate young economists, was also emphasised.

The festive atmosphere of the event was enhanced by musical performances.
