On January 12, the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan launched a training seminar with the participation of professors from prestigious German universities.

During the seminar, special attention is being paid to the broad introduction of advanced teaching methods into the educational process, enhancing the international qualifications of faculty members and students, as well as to the exchange of experience.
Upon completion of the seminar, its participants will be awarded relevant international certificates.
The event, which will run until January 16, is organized within the framework of Memoranda of Understanding between the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan and Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, as well as Clausthal University of Technology in Germany.
These documents, which marked the beginning of scientific and educational cooperation between Turkmen and German universities, were signed in early September 2025. The significant event was timed to coincide with the Day of Knowledge and Student Youth, as well as the ceremonial opening of a new academic building of the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan.
During those days, among other important events at the SEIT, the first training seminar similar to the current one—“Sustainable Energy Systems: Fundamentals and Application of Renewable Technologies”—was held under the guidance of German specialists. It became an effective platform for faculty members of the Turkmen university to study and master advanced experience and to improve the quality of scientific research.
Cooperation between Turkmen and German universities is intended to contribute to strengthening Turkmenistan’s scientific potential in the field of renewable and sustainable energy, training highly qualified specialists for the sector, ensuring the further sustainable development of industry, introducing “green” technologies into production, and increasing energy efficiency.
Bilateral events are being held with the support of the project “EU for a Green Development of Turkmenistan: Policy Dialogue and Climate Action for 2024–2028,” funded by the European Union and implemented by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).
