English language trainings held at Magtymguly Turkmen State University with the participation of specialists from a British university

Magtymguly Turkmen State University was visited by representatives of the University of Westminster, United Kingdom — Andrew Linn, Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Exchange, and Doctor of Philosophy Anastasia Bezborodova, research fellow.

For lecturers and students of the Faculty of English Language and Literature, the experts from the British university conducted a training course under the program “Accelerated English Language Learning in Central Asia” (AELLCA), aimed at improving students’ language proficiency and enhancing the quality of English language teaching in Central Asia.

During the sessions, specialists from the Great Britain spoke about modern methodologies and specific features of teaching English in Central Asia, as well as effective approaches to its accelerated learning. Particular attention was paid to improving the professional level of teachers and the language skills of students. The program concluded with a question-and-answer session devoted to the study and teaching of English as a foreign language, as well as to the development of teachers’ competencies.

As part of their visit to Magtymguly Turkmen State University, the guests from the University of Westminster met with the university’s leadership. The parties discussed in detail further plans for cooperation in priority areas of science and education.

The delegation of the University of Westminster is currently on another working visit to Turkmenistan with the aim of conducting training sessions and meetings within the framework of the AELLCA program. Cooperation under this program with higher education institutions of the country is developing at an active pace.

One of the key partners of the University of Westminster is the International University for the Humanities and Development, where training activities to enhance professional qualifications have also been held in recent days under the guidance of British experts.
