Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahalliyev and regional hyakims to consider the development of the agricultural sector and the progress of work in the country’s regions.

The floor was given first to the Ahal Velayat Hyakim T. Nurmyradov, who reported on the progress of agricultural campaigns in the region.

It was reported that seasonal maintenance, including mineral fertilization, is currently underway in wheat fields.

As part of the upcoming cotton-sowing season, plowing, leveling, and ridge forming of the land, as well as soil enrichment with mineral fertilizers, are being carried out in an organized manner.

To ensure cotton producers have sufficient seed, measures are being taken to select high-quality seeds, repair, and properly maintain agricultural machinery and equipment that will be used in the sowing season.

Furthermore, as part of the spring planting campaign for potatoes, vegetables, and melons, necessary steps are being taken to prepare the land and seed, and improve the melioration of farmland.

A report was also presented on the progress of construction projects scheduled for commissioning in the velayat this year.

After hearing the report, the head of state emphasized the importance of the agricultural sector in ensuring food abundance in the country and instructed the hyakim to ensure that seasonal work on farming land in the velayat is carried out in strict compliance with agricultural standards.

The President of Turkmenistan also ordered that the high quality and timely completion of construction projects scheduled for commissioning in the velayat this year, in accordance with the National Rural Program, be monitored. Then, the hyakim of Balkan velayat, H. Ashyrmyradov, reported on the progress of agricultural work in the region’s farmland.

As reported, wheat fields are currently being maintained in accordance with agricultural standards, including the application of mineral fertilizers.

Leveling and ridge preparation continue in the cotton fields. Cottonseed and equipment for the spring sowing campaign are also being prepared.

Guided by the instructions of the President of Turkmenistan to strengthen further food abundance in the country, the velayat is carrying out relevant work as part of the spring planting of potatoes, vegetables, and melons.

The hyakim also reported on the progress of construction projects scheduled for completion in the region this year, in accordance with the “Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country for 2022–2028” and the National Rural Program.

After hearing the report, the head of state emphasized that the key to future bountiful harvests is strict adherence to sound scientifically agricultural practices during seasonal fieldwork, and gave the hyakim specific instructions in this regard.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also ordered that the quality of construction projects scheduled for opening in the velayat this year, in accordance with the Socio-Economic Development Program for 2022–2028, be monitored.

Then, the hyakim of Dashoguz velayat, D. Babayev, reported on the progress of ongoing agricultural campaigns in the region.

As reported, plowing, leveling, and fertilizing the lands in the velayat’s agricultural lands allocated for cotton cultivation continue. Necessary measures are being taken to prepare high-quality cottonseeds suitable for the velayat’s soil and climate conditions for the upcoming season, as well as the agricultural machinery and equipment that will be used in the sowing campaign.

To ensure the population has a full supply of domestically produced food products, appropriate agricultural activities are being carried out to prepare fields and seeds for sowing.

Furthermore, a report was given on the progress of construction projects scheduled for commissioning in the velayat this year in accordance with the country’s Socio-Economic Development Program for 2022–2028 and the National Rural Program.

Summarizing the report, the President of Turkmenistan identified the proper preparation of agricultural land and agricultural machinery for the spring sowing season as a priority task and gave the hyakim a number of instructions in this regard.

The head of state also ordered the timely and high-quality completion of work planned in the region for the current year in accordance with the National Rural Program.

Further, the hyakim of Lebap velayat, D. Genjiev, reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural campaigns in the region.

As reported, in order to grow a bountiful wheat harvest this year, the velayat’s fields are being maintained in compliance with agricultural requirements.

Plowing, leveling, ridge-making, and flushing irrigation are underway in areas allocated for cotton cultivation. Measures are also being taken to prepare high-quality seeds for cotton producers, as well as agricultural machinery that will be used in the spring campaign and subsequent crop care.

Plowing and leveling of land allocated for potato and vegetable and melon crops is underway, as is the selection of seed material for the upcoming season.

Furthermore, the hyakim reported on the progress of construction projects scheduled to open in the velayat this year in accordance with the “Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country for 2022–2028” and the National Rural Program.

After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the high-quality and organized implementation of seasonal agricultural activities, particularly wheat care and preparation for spring sowing, is currently the most important requirement, and addressed specific instructions to the hyakim.

The head of state also ordered the timely and high-quality completion of work planned in the velayat for the current year as part of the country’s socio-economic development programs.

Next, the hyakim of Mary velayat D. Annaberdiev reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural campaigns in the region.

As reported, mineral fertilizer application and irrigation are currently underway in the velayat’s wheat fields in an organized manner and in accordance with agricultural standards.

Plowing and land leveling are underway in preparation for the cotton-sowing season. Necessary measures are also being taken to ensure the proper preparation of high-quality cottonseeds and agricultural machinery for the spring fieldwork.

Furthermore, in accordance with the objectives set by the President of Turkmenistan to provide fully the population with domestically manufactured food products, land preparation and seed selection for the upcoming potato, vegetable, and melon planting campaign are ongoing in the velayat.

Necessary steps are also being taken to harvest and process the sugar beet harvest grown in the region.

Furthermore, a report was given on the status of construction sites in the velayat, where work is being carried out as part of the National Rural Program.

After hearing the report, the head of state emphasized the importance of rational use of land and water resources and compliance with established standards during ongoing fieldwork, which is the main condition for maintaining soil fertility, and gave specific commissions to the hyakim.

The President of Turkmenistan also noted that the successful implementation of the objectives outlined in the country’s Socio-Economic Development Program is a necessary requirement and instructed the mayor to monitor the work being carried out in this area constantly.

Then, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahalliyev reported on the progress of the country’s seasonal agricultural campaigns.

As reported, in order to fulfill assignments of the President of Turkmenistan to grow a bountiful wheat harvest and further strengthen food abundance, crop care in the fields continues in accordance with agricultural standards.

In preparation for cotton sowing, plowing, harrowing, and ridge forming of the land are underway. To ensure cotton growers have high-quality seeds, ginning plants are processing and selecting the seed material.

Along with this, work is underway in the regions to prepare land, potato and vegetable and melon seeds, and agricultural machinery for the spring sowing season.

Summarizing the report, the head of state emphasized the important role of agriculture in the national economy, noting the need for systematic modernization of the industry to strengthen further food abundance, implement scientifically sound innovative approaches, and incorporate best practices into production. He then gave the Deputy Prime Minister a number of instructions.

Addressing the meeting participants, the President of Turkmenistan once again emphasized the ongoing seasonal agricultural activities in the velayats, assigning to ensure that plowing and leveling of land for cotton is carried out in accordance with agricultural standards, that cotton producers are supplied with sufficient, high-quality seeds, that equipment for sowing is properly prepared, that wheat is tended within the established agricultural timeframes, and that careful preparation for the spring planting of potatoes, vegetables, and melons is ensured.

Furthermore, the President of Turkmenistan service agencies and enterprises instructed to strictly monitor payments to cotton and wheat producers, as well as to rice producers in Lebap velayat and sugar beet producers in Mary velayat. In addition, instructions were given to take the necessary measures to ensure the timely and high-quality completion of work planned for the current year, in accordance with the country’s Socio-Economic Development Program for 2022–2028 and the National Rural Program.

Concluding the working meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished the participants sound health, family well-being, and great success in their work.
