The Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a conference dedicated to issues of media coverage of sports and cultural events planned to be held in 2026 under the slogan “Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses.”

During the conference, it was announced that a special media group had been formed. The group includes 12 experienced faculty members and 76 talented students from relevant departments of five leading higher education institutions of the country: the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the International University for the Humanities and Development, Magtymguly Turkmen State University, the Turkmen State Institute of Culture, and the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports.

As the conference continued, speakers delivered presentations outlining the goals, objectives, and key aspects of the organizational activities of the newly established team of correspondents. Participants discussed the organization of specialized training sessions aimed at enhancing the core competencies of young journalists, enriching their practical experience, and ensuring professional and prompt coverage of major events scheduled to be held at the national and international levels in 2026.

The speakers expressed confidence that the upcoming activities of the media group will not only ensure high-quality coverage of events of national significance, but will also make a meaningful contribution to the development of international friendly relations and the strengthening of cultural and humanitarian cooperation with other countries.

The creation of a working group of young correspondents is intended to strengthen the potential of Turkmen youth, become an important step in their development as a significant component of international diplomacy, and contribute to the effective implementation of the country’s youth policy objectives.
