Hindi and Ayurveda classrooms have opened in Turkmen universities

Hindi and Ayurveda classrooms were opened in higher education institutions of Turkmenistan. The ceremony was attended by the representative of the Ministry of External Affairs of the Republic of India Sibi George, the Ambassador of India to Turkmenistan Bandaru Wilsonbabu and diplomatic mission staff.

In a festive atmosphere, a Hindi classroom was opened at the Turkmen national institute of world languages named after Dovletmammet Azady.

The new classroom is equipped with all the necessary technical equipment for studying Hindi. Here, students will be able to enrich their knowledge by exploring the works of outstanding Indian poets, writers, and philosophers, as well as literature about India's unique cultural heritage.

During the event, the linguistics students of the institute performed vibrant musical numbers, including traditional Indian dances and popular Hindi songs.

As emphasised at the ceremony, the opening of the new Hindi language classroom will further strengthen friendly Turkmen-Indian relations and fruitful humanitarian cooperation, as well as the training of future linguists at the university.

A significant event in the development of Turkmen-Indian cooperation was the grand opening of a new Ayurveda classroom at the State medical university of Turkmenistan named after Myrat Garryyev.

Speakers at the ceremony noted that the opening of the new centre is an important step in expanding scientific and educational ties and cooperation in healthcare between the two countries, the foundations of which were laid at the intergovernmental level in 2015.

As noted, students from a number of university specialties are currently actively and enthusiastically studying traditional Indian medicine in special classes. Ayurveda and yoga therapy practices are included in the curriculum of the Turkmen medical University. Specialists from the Centre for yoga and traditional medicine, which opened in the Turkmen capital as part of bilateral cooperation, are making a significant contribution to the training of future medical professionals. Based on this interaction, additional opportunities are created for student training and practice, and the exchange of knowledge and experience between the two countries.

Indian experts emphasised that Ayurveda is an ancient system of medicine that has evolved over centuries. It helps maintain balance between body, mind and spirit through natural methods such as diet, herbs, yoga, massage, detoxification, with the aim of preventing diseases and achieving harmony and longevity. With the opening of the Ayurveda classroom, students will be able to more deeply study and understand the intricacies of this ancient Indian science.

During the ceremony, participants were given a detailed tour of the equipment and operating methods of the new Ayurveda classroom.

The event concluded with musical performances by the «Melhem» University creative group. Participants in the event expressed sincere gratitude to the leadership of the two countries for the opportunities created for the development of international cooperation.
