The presentation of the new creative ensemble of musicians—the Melody Orchestra—took place to a sold-out audience at the “Ta-Tal” Theatre. The orchestra’s director, laureate of international competitions Annaoraz Dovletov, dedicated the creative debut of his like-minded colleagues to the memory of Jemal Mukhammedova, a cello instructor at the Specialized Music Boarding School affiliated with the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kuliyeva.

The first part of the concert was biographical in nature. Host Ekaterina Darchiya introduced the audience to the life story of the talented cellist Jemal Mukhammedova. Her narration was accompanied by performances of musical works thematically resonant with key events in Jemal Mukhammedova’s life.

The second half of the concert featured Jemal Mukhammedova’s favorite works, including compositions by Aman Agajikov, Georgy Sviridov, Valery Gavrilin, John Williams, Arno Babajanyan, and others. A particularly strong impression on the audience was made by a trumpet solo performed by Amangeldi Hudaygulyyev, who played the soundtrack “Melody” from the film “At Home Among Strangers, a Stranger Among His Own.” The children’s choir “Raduga” (“Rainbow”) harmoniously complemented the concert with its participation.

During the concert, the floor was given to Jemal Mukhammedova’s daughter and son, as well as to her colleagues, who warmly recalled the talented teacher.

At the conclusion of the concert, in a conversation with a correspondent of “GA”, the head of the Melody Orchestra, Annaoraz Dovletov, shared the ensemble’s future creative plans.

“We are planning to congratulate all women of Ashgabat and guests of the capital on International Women’s Day, March 8, with a new festive concert, which we intend to hold at the Watan Cinema and Concert Hall. Taking this opportunity, on behalf of the musicians of the Melody Orchestra, I would like to express our deep gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for creating in our country all the conditions necessary for the development of various forms of art.”
