As part of the Italian Design Days in Ashgabat, Vice President of the renowned Italian company “iDOGI” Silvia Formenti and the company’s architect Sergio Ferrandi visited the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute.
The distinguished guests from Italy delivered an informative lecture to the institute’s students, sharing the results of their professional activities and accumulated experience.
The company’s representatives introduced students to their architectural and design projects, focusing in detail on the specifics of their implementation and on advanced global practices in this field. At the conclusion of the main session, an exchange of views took place, during which the Italian specialists answered students’ questions.
The guests then took a detailed tour of an exhibition organized on the occasion of their visit, which showcased the results of research and design work carried out by faculty members and students. Among the exhibits was the project for a new complex of institute buildings, whose construction is progressing at a rapid pace, with the campus opening expected in September of this year.
It was noted that a number of modern architectural projects developed by the institute’s professors and students have already been successfully implemented in Ashgabat.
The Italian specialists were also informed about the institute’s research activities aimed at addressing key industrial challenges in priority areas such as ecology and the rational use of natural resources, energy, chemical technologies, the production of new competitive products, construction, architecture and seismology, as well as information and communication technologies. It was emphasized that, to ensure the harmonious integration of science, education, and industry, an IT Scientific and Technical Center has been established at the institute.
During the continuation of the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities for cooperation in the fields of science and education. It was noted that the Turkmen institute maintains productive collaboration with such prestigious Italian universities as Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and the Polytechnic University of Milan. The partnership is successfully developing in priority areas of science and education on the basis of previously signed bilateral memoranda of understanding.
