These marvelous symbols of spring can be found high in the foothills of Kopetdag and Koytendag. Their flowering is first observed in the lower belt of the mountains, and then in the middle reaches, where the cool weather lasts for a long time and in some places the snow covers. Tulip bulbs spring into the soil in spring and the height of the stem depends on the amount of moisture accumulated during the winter in the soil.

Its scarlet flowers reach 10 cm in height and have the form of an acute ray star.

The wild flora of the country includes 16 species of tulips. All of them are listed in the Red Book of Turkmenistan.
