Turkmenistan and the Great Britain signed 4 memorandums of cooperation in the field of education

During a working visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain by the Turkmen government delegation, led by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of foreign affairs Rashid Meredov, a series of productive meetings were held with leading British universities, education quality assurance organisations, and international education companies. The Turkmen side was represented at the meetings by deputy minister of education of Turkmenistan Azat Atayev.

The meetings held in London resulted in the signing of four cooperation documents, which represent another important step towards the development of the Turkmen-British humanitarian partnership.

The parties entered into the following joint agreements:

- Memorandum of understanding in the field of skills certification between the Ministry of education of Turkmenistan and the international educational company Pearson. The document provides for the introduction of internationally recognised qualifications and certification, the development of digital assessment formats and examination administration.

- Memorandum of understanding in the field of educational assessment between the Ministry of education of Turkmenistan and AQA Global Assessment Services Ltd. The document forms the basis for improving the quality of assessment at the school level, developing the competencies of assessment specialists, improving approaches to the development of control materials, and ensuring transparency and comparability of results.

- Memorandum of understanding between the National institute of education of Turkmenistan and the Norwich Institute for Language Education (NILE). The agreement focuses on practical programs for improving the qualifications of teachers, developing teaching methods, and creating sustainable professional communities of teachers.

- Memorandum of understanding between the Turkmen national institute of world languages named after Dovletmammet Azady and Nottingham Trent University. The document aims to implement joint educational initiatives, academic exchanges, and strengthen the practice-oriented component of training.

Following the document signing ceremony, deputy minister of education of Turkmenistan A. Atayev held a series of targeted talks with representatives of four British partner-organisations.

The parties discussed ways to implement the agreements reached, including the creation of joint working groups, the preparation of technical specifications, and step-by-step roadmaps.

The signed agreements confirmed the mutual willingness of the parties to engage in constructive cooperation based on specific projects aimed at improving the quality of education, developing human capital, and achieving the long-term strategic goals of Turkmenistan.
