A creative meeting titled “Woman and Nature” was held at the International Science and Technology Park of the capital at the initiative of the public organization “Young Naturalist.” The event was dedicated to International Women’s Day.
The meeting was organized with technical support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) project in Turkmenistan, “Support to the process of updating Turkmenistan’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC 3.0),” implemented within the country’s commitments under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Paris Agreement on climate change.
The event brought together forty participants and featured presentations by representatives of the Ministry of Environmental Protection. The key role of women in shaping the environmental culture of society was emphasized. The special atmosphere of the meeting was enhanced by the participation of distinguished guests—women professionals in the fields of education, healthcare, and the media—who shared their professional experience and personal perspectives on environmental issues.
“In our country, the role of women in society has always been highly valued. Women and nature are inseparable sources of life and beauty. Our main task is to instill this harmony in the minds of young people and foster in them a caring attitude toward the environment,” noted Leyli Shikhmedova, head of the public organization “Young Naturalist.”
UNDP experts and young eco-volunteers discussed international commitments in the field of climate change and the implementation of joint projects. Members of the “Young Naturalist” organization engaged in an active dialogue with experts, receiving comprehensive answers to pressing questions. The meeting concluded with a ceremonial presentation of commemorative gifts from the organizers.
The event became an effective platform for exchanging experience and supporting environmental initiatives led by girls and women.
