Mohammed Sharif Anis is accredited as the Ambassador of Sri Lanka in Turkmenistan

By the request of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Speaker of the Mejlis gulshat Mammedova received the credentials of Mohammed Sharif Anis, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialistic Republic of Sri Lanka to Turkmenistan.

On behalf of the Head of the State, the Head of National Parliament congratulated the guest on the beginning of his diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan, having wished him success in the consolidation of friendship and cooperation relations between two countries.

Having expressed the gratitude for good wishes, the Ambassador conveyed the greetings of wishes of further progress from the leaders of Sri Lanka to Turkmen leader and assured that he would put all his experience and knowledge for the intensification of bilateral cooperation for the sake of two nations.

During the conversation, the diplomat was informed in details on the main directions of the state policy of Turkmenistan where important role is given to multidimensional international cooperation. Special attention was addressed to the realization of large-scale social and economic programmes and investment projects initiated by the Head of the State.

The activity of the Mejlis on the improvement of national legal framework in the context of integrated reforms was one of the main subjects of the meeting.

Having expressed keen interest to large-scale achievements of our country, Mohammed Sharif Anis noted the presence of big potential for the activation of trade and economic cooperation and partnership between business circles of Turkmenistan and Sri Lanka, collaboration in environmental protection as well as in tourism.

On the same day, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialistic Republic of Sri Lanka was received in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan where interested discussion of perspective directions of bilateral cooperation took place.

Under the cultural programme, Ambassador Mohammed Sharif Anis looked around the sightseeing of Ashgabat.
