An exhibition dedicated to the holy month of Ramadan has opened at the Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
Visitors are presented with works of calligraphic art and copies of the Qur'an of various sizes in many languages. The opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by Ali Mojtaba Rouzbehani, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Ashgabat, and Yalkap Hojagulyyev, Mufti of Turkmenistan.

The central exhibit is a unique artwork containing the full text of the Qur’an written in extremely fine calligraphic script. The exhibition also features works with illustrated Qur’anic verses and sayings of Persian Sufi poets embossed and gilded.
Visitors to the exhibition can learn about the origin of the Qur’anic text, its significance and the history of its manuscripts, as well as their artistic features, styles of calligraphy, and traditions of creation. A special introduction to the world of calligraphy was organized for students of the Academy of Arts and schoolchildren.

As the head of the diplomatic mission emphasized, Turkmenistan and Iran share common cultural values.
“The organization of the Holy Qur’an exhibition, held annually during the month of Ramadan, is an important step in promoting Qur’anic culture and creating conditions for the younger generation to become more deeply acquainted with divine guidance. In this space, art, literature, and the profound meanings of the verses come together, bringing our hearts closer to the divine word,” noted the diplomat.

Taking the opportunity, the Ambassador expressed sincere gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, as well as to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov for their special attention to cultural issues and efforts to develop humanitarian ties.
“Holding such joint events contributes to strengthening the spiritual and brotherly relations between Iran and Turkmenistan. Our borders will always remain borders of peace, friendship, and brotherhood,” concluded Ali Mojtaba Rouzbehani.
