Five years ago I had a chance to visit sunny Turkmenistan and to see the results of archaeological excavations in Gonur-Depe as well as to see myself that large-scale work on study of the richest historical values of this ancient land. Margiana used to be prosperous kingdom not yielding to other developed civilizations. This is indicated by the findings discovered there. We are glad and proud that the rarities of Gonur-Depe are exhibited in our Museum and the guests from different countries of the world had an opportunity to see these priceless treasures of Margiana.

I was the witness that traditions of ancient architecture receive deserving continuation. I was impressed with unique architecture of white-marble buildings, beautiful fountains, green parks and public gardens. In few years, Turkmen capital has transformed beyond the recognition, Dr Manfred Navrot said, having noted that there is something to learn.

Several years of diligent preparation work were required for organization of exhibition “Margiana. The Kingdom of the Bronze Age in Turkmenistan”.
